Broad Peak is located in the Karakoram Range, along the border between Pakistan and China. The peak, the twelfth tallest in the world and fourth tallest in Pakistan, received its name from its broad summit, over 1.5 km in length, containing five separate peaks: Broad Peak (8,051 m.), Rocky Summit (8,028 m.), Broad Peak Central (8,011 m.), Broad Peak North (7,490), and Kharut Kangri (6,942 m.). It was first successfully summitted in June, 1957, by an Austrian team consisting of Fritz Wintersteller, Marcus Schmuck, Kurt Diemberger, and Herman Buhl (also credited with the first ascent of Nanga Parbat). This first ascent was accomplished without supplemental oxygen, high altitude porters, or base camp support.

Annapurna I (8,091m/ 26,545 ft) is the 10th highest mountain in the world. It is located on the 55 km long massif of the Himalayas in the North-central part of Nepal. Till 2016, there had been 200 summit ascents of Annapurna I, and 61 fatalities were recorded while climbing on the mountain. The climb to Annapurna I via South Face is considered technically most challenging after K2. The South Face is huge in size and 3,000 feet higher than the southwest face of Mount Everest. However, the South Face of Annapurna is relatively free from avalanches. It is a normal route to the summit of Mt. Annapurna 1. Getting back to Base Camp from the summit is more important than ascending there.
Manaslu is the world’s eighth highest peak at 8,163m above sea level. It is located about 40 miles east of Annapurna I. The name Manaslu is derived from the Sanskrit word Manasa and can be roughly translated as Mountain of the Spirit. Climbing Mt. Manaslu is by far difficult and challenging. The expedition trail to Manaslu Base Camp is scenically and culturally most spectacular, passing through villages, valleys, rivers, and meadows.
